Gathering pieces of life along the journey wondering how it will all fit together. Where do we go from here, which direction is the next step? Behind or in front? What does it look like? The power that is within our spirit will give us the answers to all our questions as we take on the adventure ahead of us. Creating memories, the making of a story never imagined, reaching beyond the limitations set by the world.
Anything is possible if you just believe, He said. (Mark 9:23)

In the moments of life when we walk away from someone or something that is holding us captive, we attempt to focus more on the important things in life. My focus recently hasn’t been right where it should have been. On more than one occasion, I thought it was God not talking to me. I looked in the mirror and realized, I am not listening and doing as God called me to do. Instead, my focus has been on what He called others to do.
You think you know him, you think you know her, you think you know yourself. Then you realize the moment that God gave you an open window to see a glimpse of the path that is open far and wide for all He has for YOU. So why do we question God exposing us to such behavior of ourselves or others? The truth guides and helps the eyes re-focus and gain the freedom from captivity that God so desires for us. We are exposed so we may see internally the need for a change in behavior, a change of patterns, a change of heart. In order to change these, we have to listen, acknowledge and actually DO something about it.
You may lose “friends or family”, but you will never lose God if you truly are listening and doing right by His word. I know there are people who walked out of my life for whatever reason they have, and, I am good with it because I am healthier for it. The window was open and I now see clearly, hear more clearly and am doing what is according to His path for me.

“Sometimes I thank God for unanswered prayers.” Most of us have heard the song by Garth Brooks “Unanswered Prayers” right? Recently I was reminded that I need to Thank God for my unanswered prayers.
God is for me; God is not against me. Unanswered prayers, if He is for me, why the unanswered prayers?

God’s Grace is Sufficient
The landscape that is around the heart is withering away, just like the green grass dying by the hot sun beating down with no water to moisten the soil. The branches of a tree break, no life, no root to hold onto. The death of nature.

Blemishes. No Defects. Perfect. Weaknesses. No Mistakes. Shortcomings.
You’re probably thinking, why the negative and positive words that are pointed out above. Blemishes. No Defects. Perfect. Weaknesses. No Mistakes. Shortcomings. As we consider the world of social media and the way we are to “appear” to the world, some find themselves flawed and less than enough. Why? Because we compare ourselves to others on social media and what they “appear” to have or look like. We all do it. Each of these words represents a piece of our thought process at one time or another, the good and the bad.
Let us change our focus in the new year. As we begin to look at the beauty within our hearts, the beauty that God created within you, think of yourself as flawless, a beautiful you!

HE SENDS A MESSAGE …WE MIRROR IT
I moved to Florida in April 2012, and it’s been an awesome journey. My spare room is what I use as my craft room, office and well the “catch all room.” I started purging things today, just as most of us do at the start of a new year. Start fresh, clean slate, organized and ready to take on the next chapter, right?
As I am going through papers and old stuff, I have this soft nudge in my heart telling me to stop working and look in the mirror. God, what am I supposed to be looking for when I look in the mirror, I wonder. A couple of questions come to mind, “What does my next chapter, my next 364 days’ look like?” “What is it that God desires for me to learn in this chapter?”

Jesus, David, and John, they all had something in common. They all felt abandoned. How about you? Have you ever felt abandoned? By God? By a friend, mentor, family member? I think we all have felt this way at one time or another. As I reflect on 2016, I find myself seeing all the abandonment that happened in the last 365 days. I honestly feel that God abandoned me.
