Through this past election year, America has been changed and divided yet again. When will we look at what is truth and what is important? Please stop with the ugliness in your hearts and words, and let’s change THE WORLD the right way.
When we speak of the love we have for our family, shouldn’t that be ALL the world? We have our blood family; we also have an adopted family. In the beginning, God created us all as a family; we as humans are a family united. It is not just those that appear to have it all together, even those that the world calls “the haters” of the world still love someone and are a part of the united family. If you truly love even one person, animal, or object, I don’t believe you are to be called a “hater”.
I am a believer of God the Father, Jesus Christ the Son and the Holy Spirit, The Trinity. I’m not going to brow beat you into a Christ loving relationship. My prayer for you, if you are not a believer, is that you would see what true love and hope is through Jesus Christ, and if you are a believer, I pray that your heart grows deeper to be more like Christ every day in your journey. We are all on a journey of our own, but can be united if we just try.
I am not a political scholar and will never claim to be. I believe in my right to freedom, that freedom on earth was given to me long before I was even born. I believe in my right to free will, that too was given to me long before I was even born.
To simplify, let’s break this down. I am not one for big fancy words to explain things either, so go with me here.
“Free will” – You have the ability within you to make an informed choice or to not make a choice. “I want coffee, I don’t want coffee.” Simple as that.
“Freedom” – This falls under the culture or the social category and even the political aspect. This is where your free will may or may not be able to be exercised.
“You committed a crime, you go to jail, you can’t open your cell door to drive to the fast food restaurant to get your favorite chicken sandwich. You desire something (free will) that you can’t obtain. (loss of freedom, yet your free will is still actively present).”
“You want to go outside for a run or walk. You go. Simple as that. (Freedom)
Now that we’ve broken it down, let us look at what we can do to be World Changers. We all can practice kindness, patience, love and understanding. The Bible tells us in Galatians 5:22-26 (I love the Message version – especially when you are seeking the simplified context).
“But what happens when we live God’s way? He brings gifts into our lives, much the same way that fruit appears in an orchard—things like affection for others, exuberance about life, serenity. We develop a willingness to stick with things, a sense of compassion in the heart, and a conviction that a basic holiness permeates things and people. We find ourselves involved in loyal commitments, not needing to force our way in life, able to marshal and direct our energies wisely.
Legalism is helpless in bringing this about; it only gets in the way. Among those who belong to Christ, everything connected with getting our own way and mindlessly responding to what everyone else calls necessities is killed off for good—crucified.
Since this is the kind of life we have chosen, the life of the Spirit, let us make sure that we do not just hold it as an idea in our heads or a sentiment in our hearts, but work out its implications in every detail of our lives. That means we will not compare ourselves with each other as if one of us were better and another worse. We have far more interesting things to do with our lives. Each of us is an original.”
When you read this passage, think about the good things in this world that are offered to us, the freedom to love, the freedom to choose, the freedom to capture the beauty of others through a lens that is not of your own. (And yes, we have the freedom to be ugly and mean, but I challenge you to change your heart to bring more unity to our family, keep reading).
By cleaning the hatred from our hearts, we release the free will that Jesus gave us by sacrificing His life on the cross. When we re-evaluate what is in our hearts and change our way of thinking by sharing our words and actions with others, we exercise our free will that leads to our freedom of laying our head down at night and resting peacefully because we protected what was right for that day.
Our military protects us every day, they assist each other in providing the freedom we as Americans have. Key point… “they assist each other.” If the soldiers that are out there fighting battles were against one another, hating each other, killing each other intentionally, what purpose would there be for us to ask for freedom or for them to even be out there on the battlefield? We need each other, all of us, not just the military soldiers, but ALL of us. We are all soldiers in one fashion or another. A soldier for the country, a soldier for Christ, a soldier for your child, for your parent, for the lost and broken, and for the wealthy, for the poor, for the hungry, for the homeless, for ALL. Don’t take what I am saying out of context, I have the highest respect for our military soldiers, they fight a battle that is beyond comparison to what we fight. Remember the key point, “soldiers assist each other”. Parents, help other parents, be kind in your words to help other parents raise their children. Kids are not easy to raise, I was a single mom, I get it. Adults, help your parents, yes, they can be irritating and annoying, but you were sometimes irritating and annoying to them at one point in your life. Be a soldier for Christ, fight for the love He sacrificed for you. Stand for the military, honor the military, stand for your parents, honor your parents, stand for your children, honor your children, stand for the lost and broken, the wealthy, the poor, and honor them, even if you don’t think they deserve it.
STAND FOR JESUS CHRIST ~ HONOR HIM! He didn’t deserve to be brutally crucified for your inability to love others.
This message is not just for those that are believers, or those that have wealth and high power, but for those that are lost, those that feel no hope, no sense of peace in their hearts. To those that are less fortunate, please know that even the wealthy, the high-powered people in the world struggle with the same concerns and issues that you and I have. Sometimes the wealthiest are hurting the most, and say things that they truly don’t mean, but are blind to their surroundings. Sometimes the not so wealthy are the most genuinely caring people and will give you their last bottle of water to quench your thirst.
Being ugly in the world will never change what our world has become today. You can begin to make that change by saying something nice to someone, by showing love to another, by assisting someone in fighting a battle they need help with, by standing up for your belief, by using your voice for what is GOOD, not ugly. Change your heart for what is good.
Your free will is speaking actively, use it for what it was created for, to see the GOOD IN EVERYONE AND EVERYTHING!
Psalm 51:10 “Create in me a clean heart, O God. Renew a loyal spirit within me.”
Lovingly Serving CHRIST and YOU~
