Many times we go through our crazy days and we just want to stop to catch our breath.  I know for me, seems like I am always doing something and wish I had a day to do nothing, take care of no one but me.  I am sure many of us have this same feeling.

So how do we….            stop

Recently, I have found a new found appreciation for the joy that God placed in my heart for stopping.  He reminded me that it’s okay to not do anything, it’s okay to have a wellness day for me, for yourself.  As a matter of fact, He encourages it from the very beginning of His Word.

Genesis 2: 2-3 “And on the seventh day God finished his work that he had done, and he rested on the seventh day from all his work that he had done. So God blessed the seventh day and made it holy because on it God rested from all his work that he had done in creation.”

Hebrews 4: 9-11 “Let us, therefore, strive to enter that rest, so that no one may fall by the same sort of disobedience.”

Matthew 11:28 “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.”

1 Peter 5:7 “Casting all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you.”

Psalm 62:5 “Yes, my soul, find rest in God: my hope comes from him.”

Life can take over and then we find ourselves in the “busyness” and we forget what truly is important.  When we hold onto the material things because we fear we won’t be connected with the right person/people, we lose ourselves in the busyness trying to keep up with them.  Nothing of this world is more valuable than stopping to find you and where God desires you to be.  In a world where you can be anything, do anything, have anything, remember this…STOP and BE YOU, DO YOU, FIND YOU!

Matthew 7:7
Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.

Deuteronomy 4:29
“But from there you will seek the LORD your God, and you will find Him if you search for Him with all your heart and all your soul.

1 Chronicles 22:19
“Now set your heart and your soul to seek the LORD your God; arise, therefore, and build the sanctuary of the LORD God, so that you may bring the ark of the covenant of the LORD and the holy vessels of God into the house that is to be built for the name of the LORD.”

From my heart to yours!  You are loved!
